A study, called High Gain Audio carried out by WPP Media, one of the largest media buying agencies in the world, revealed a year or two ago that both broadcast radio and digital radio outperform other media channels in generating profit ROI (Return On Investment), whether for short-term campaigns or long-term brand building.
The study concluded digital audio delivers a full-term profit return of £5.20 for every pound spent. For every hundred pounds spent, the return to an advertiser would be £105.20p.
The report also highlighted how shifting existing budgets to give audio a larger share can amplify that result. Campaigns that included audio saw short-term ROI uplift by 8% compared to those without audio in the mix.
The latest radio listening research shows 41.8% of people now listen to DAB radio as opposed to 26.6% of people listening to AM or FM stations. A further 10.9% listen online and 18.4% listen via smart speakers. This means over 70% of people listen to radio via the ways TCMR will be broadcasting.
